I have been hesitant to put suet cakes in my run because I am not sure if they are ok for the chickens to eat ... so far I have just been putting veggies in the suet cake holder that is hanging in the run ... what are your thoughts?

I put suet cakes out for my chickens a lot! (The ones for wild birds.) Another thing out there for chickens is called a flock block. Basically a bigger cake for chickens. :D You can even make your own block for them!

i also did a couple times and then i read that they are high in fat and chickies do not need lots of fat....wondering if this is true? in an old suet cage hung from the ceiling i put in bananas or froen broc.caulif and they love it
