There's got to be a way to prevent these mites?? This is my fifth time spraying everything and even with a mask I get a headache from so much pesticide. I don't think this is good for my health. Their coop is huge, more like a small shed, and my dad built them a roosting box, which has so many wooden bars and structures. He also made a wood slat for our dog crate in there that we use as an alternative housing option for sick or new chickens. There's just so much wood to spray.
My dad also left a pile of wood bars outside their coop that I've been spraying. I'll spray those today but is it necessary to spray them in the future?
