How much sugar to how much water should I use to entice my chicken to take in more water? What I mix for hummingbirds would surely be way too much sugar, right?

The only time I know to add sugar to the water is for your new hatchery chicks when you unpack them to give them energy after their stressful journey. I wouldn't give it to grown chickens.

Ok..What does sugar do to chickens? Asking because the steroid my rooster is on is LOADED with sugar in the flavoring..

Ok..well I would'nt give it to my healthy chickens..I'm just trying to entice my injured and very depressed rooster to drink more water..I fear he is dehydrated, though his face skin being dry and gone yellowish white might be due to something else..I opsted on the disease forum about it and so far have not got any response..
