One of our female Pekin was waddling a bit more than usual. I bought her from a guy that said she’d had foot problems in the past. Everyone else looks great, so I think it’s an isolated case. They have callouses, but they look pink but dirty. The girl in question has darker and crustier looking feet. She never actually climbs into the tubs of water, I don’t think she knows how.

I did some research and decided to try sugardine to see if anything will come to the surface. I bought coband, and put the sugardine on a scrap of rag and secured it with the coband.

I mixed the sugardine to a chunky peanut butter consistency, and applied it to the rag with a popsicle stick. I didn’t wash her feet first because she was already incredibly stressed. Then I put the rag on her feet individually and secured it with coband somewhat loosely (not too loose so it falls off) because at least on humans coband is self tightening.

My instinct was it was better to treat if I suspected it was Bumblefoot than leave it be. Since I’m treating topically, I figured no harm no foul if I’m wrong about the Bumblefoot.

Anyone else use sugardine?
