Hi!
I have eggs in the incubator that are going to hatch next Friday! I've been preparing for their "arrival" into this world, I got some tweezers from Dollar Tree just in case I need to assist a chick in hatching.
I also got this little multi-reservoir dinner plate (don't know what else to call it 😄) at Dollar Tree the other day, and I was planning on making a "chickuterie" board for all the chicks so that they can try different foods. Even though I'm going to be selling them and not keeping them, I still want them to have a great few weeks at my house until they get sold😊
The plate has 5 different sections in it.

So far a section is going to have mashed up hard boiled eggs, one with tiny mashed up greens, one with yolk (is that a good idea or no??), one with mash/mush, but I don't have any ideas of what to put in the last section🤔
Do you guys have any ideas? What should I put in the largest section?
There are going to be probably a little less than 20 chicks.

Thanks!!

The problem with your plate is that they will walk through the food, and poop in it. Better option would be ramekins or small dessert bowls. They don't need to eat anything the first couple of days, do just put water out in the ramekins. Put them out so each ramekin is in one corner of a triangle. This will teach them to search out the ramekins.

I would put out chia seeds or quinoa seeds mixed with coarse ground corn meal in one of the ramekins instead of water after a couple of days. Are you going to feed commercial feed or continue homemade?

I feed crumble to all my chickens/chicks.
Would the chia/quinoa seeds mixed with corn meal be a treat or full-on meal??

I use peanut butter jar lids, one for each brooder. The only "treat" they get is wet crumbles (mash) and they love it!

When they get about a month, I'll give them some chopped up scrambled eggs but the first time they never like them much. You have to remove them shortly after if they don't eat them as they can go bad.
