sulfadimidine for coccidiosis?

Hi
Todays I got sulfadimidine pills 2.5 gr for coccidiosis.
1.have anybody used sulfadimidine for treating coccidiosis?
2.what the proper dosage should be? I currently using 1 pill (2.5) in 5 liter water.
3.on the cover it says for goats and cows..is it safe for chickens?
4.can I mix it with Apple cider vinegar and vitamins?
5.can it be used for prevention in coccidiosis? for those chicks that are healthy I mean.

Sulfadimidine is the same drug as sulfamethazine (Sulmet) which can be used in chickens to treat coccidiosis and coryza. I am not sure about dosage of the product you have. If you post a picture of the label, I may be able to help. Do not mix it with anything. Use it for 2 days, then mix it half strength for 4 days. Here is a link for a product called SMZ-Med 454, and you can look down at the mixing for this particular product:

it says "Add 2 tablespoons (1 fl oz) to each gallon" this is a little confusing for me ....
I have 2.5gr tablets and mix it with water in blender.
how many grams per gallon of water? I read in some pdf, dosage should be 1800MG per gallon.

Is this the same product you have? It says to give 1 gram per every 1 or 2 liters of water for 3 days, stopp for 2 days and give for 3 more days—look under dosage and administration for poultry:

just one last question.
in the future though they may be healthy can I give them a low dosage for 2-3 days in order to avoid coccidiosis? Would it hurt them?

It does say on that label that you can give it for 3 days for “subclinical” coccidiosis, and I would use the lower dosage.

what happens if I use the same sulfamethazine Solution for 3 or 4 days?
It's hard to weigh one tenth of the tablet and mix it in water....

For treatment, the directions say to give it to poultry and turkeys for 4 days.

As a preventative I am not sure.
