I looked on the side & the minimum is 25 birds. I'm located in western Washington.

If you are near California, there is a hatchery called Amber Waves Beared Bantam Silkies. http://showsilkies.com

There is also a place in Mass. Golden Egg Farm www.goldeneggfarm.com

Both of these places sells silkies. I don't know what the minimum is.

And after much digging around, many hatcheries are out of chicks or sold out for a few months yet. Silkies are hot items!!

Washington is not THAT far from New Mexico. If you can't locate them closer, you might consider Privett Hatchery here in NM. Click on that link I provided in an earlier post.

Hello and Welcome To BYC! If you can't find just a few silkies, you could ask on your state thread if anyone would split an order with you. Or, egg laying chicks usually are pretty easy to sell this time of year, you could just order the silkies you want and fill up the order with something like sex links and sell them on Craigslist etc.

If you don't luck out and find them locally it really looks like you are going to either order more chicks, since silkies are usually straight run, might not be a bad idea anyhow, or wait until they are back in stock in the small order hatcheries... I know shipping is a lot more, but have you considered older chicks?
