Yes, she was puffed up standing, but when I put her in my lap, she laid down with her head and neck completely stretched out on my leg like chicks do when they sleep. 3 days ago, I noticed that she had head lice and I bathed her and put down more First Saturday Lime in area she sleeps. Today was first day I did not see any lice. I have her in “hospital box” and she has eaten a bunch and drank a lot of water. She has not started laying yet. I did not check her crop before bedtime, but I will first thing in the morning. How do I know if it is coccidiosis? Thank you for your help! The poop being dark green looks like she is not eating much. Is she standing puffed up, and not eating or drinking? I would get some water into her right away, and electrolytes or poultry NutriDrench is good 1/2 ml per day. Coccidiosis may be a problem, or she could be kept from eating and drinking? Has she started laying? How does her crop feel—empty and flat, full, hard, or puffy? If coccidiosis could be a problem, you could start her on some Corid from the feedstore. Dosage is 2 tsp or 10 ml per gallon of water, or 1.5 tsp of the powder, for 5-7 days.
