Well, I'm gonna set my first batch of eggs from my Sulmtalers. Wish me luck! Her pullet eggs have got a bit bigger so I'm gonna try to hatch. Fingers crossed for all females.... I had so many males I got to pick really good ones to work with (AND BIG).

for lots of girls. I have a couple pipped in the bator but when I woke up this am the humidity was at 50% Yikes.... I bumped it way up, but holy moly not sure what happened. Water in trays etc.. I am going to watch it closely.

Here is an updated picture of the roo I got from Carolina. He is getting big. Thanks again Carolina for sending him to me!

Everyone I know that is raising them is trying to get them established and wouldn't think of eating one. With my bad luck hatching I think I have about $100 in each.......would be a gourmet meal even if they tasted bad!! If asked what they tasted like I would probably answer...not like chicken, more like NY Strip or Filet Mignon.

. I made good use of my culls. I don't have a culinary pallet but the meat tasted awesome to me! (I assume that was not wishful thinking) And especially the roosters have a LOT of meat.

Yes but Miss Carolina you have had more than anyone else lol and some to cull. We appreciate you giving us the opportunity to have any in the first place. You are going to be to Sulmtaler's as Bev Davis and Wade Jeane are to Copper Marans, which brings to mind how you would prefer your line of Sulmtaler's to be referred to as; your name or the name of your ranch?

Well, after the nervous wait for my precious hatching eggs from Widget Creek Sulmtalers, they arrived beautifully packaged and safe just as I expected. Thanks Carolina!
The PO goofed and had to bring them to me after hours (long story) Yada, Yada, they are HERE!!!

Everyone cross your fingers & toes for me as I'll need it!

Can't wait to be in the Sulmtaler club.

I got 7 sulmtaler eggs yesterday. Maybe we can have a sulmtaler hatch along Extra Java!
