Do you have any of their barnevelders already? I am looking for a roo. If it turns out to be a roo and you don't want it.....I do. I just won another auction and no barnies in it. Now I have marsh daisy, merlerault and lyonnaise. I might keep the altsterier.

This is my first one- it's really the sweetest and most tame one of the whole batch

He looks to be Silver Wheaten. Breeding him to your pullet will produce more Silvers, yes.
Ok, Isn't the name/bird "Silver" has no gold, and no red, and "Wheaten" is a form of gold, so a "Silver Wheaten" is a contradiction ?
Like saying a "Silver Golden" ..............................?
Wheaten is a form of gold....?

I am also hoping they do not come out 'crazy ' and "flighty" as RFR described they can be.

Anyone else experiencing Sulmtalers to be nutty, flighty birds ?

I have found my pullets to be as described. My roo is more calm but recently started to flog me. I have a few more young ones and they were horrible in the brooder, but so were the Isbars in with them. I have another set of chicks from Greenfire and they are more calm then the last batch. I actually have one niederrheiner roo chick and his disposition is awesome. I would love some more of them. He is super cool and fast growing.

Great, from what I have read & talked to ppl, they all say Sulmtalers are nasty ditzy crazy birds.
It does not fit, given that they are large fowl, the 'ditzy' personality does not fit...but we'll see.
I have several, and so far, they are "normal"

Mine are free range so I expect mine to be more flighty, but most of my breeds are not surprisingly. The new batch is not horrible but not like the niederrhirner or malines, they are great. Like I said the sulmtaler roo is good and huge, but the hens have been a bit on the crazy side. They have manages to elude predators which is what I want.

I am wondering about the Neiderheiner myself....but I am just about DONE running after every bird Green fire comes up with, although I still want crawlers.....
