Sultan mix? And d'uccle??

These both came out of the bantams bin at TSC. Both are about 9 weeks old.

Any ideas on sex????

I think this is a white bearded D'uccle?

And I believe this to be a Sultan mix? The comb isn' a V comb. It has 5 toes and all other traits of the Sultan.

9 weeks of age...I'd say you've got 2 pullets. d'Uccle is for sure a pullet in my opinion.

Your Sultan isn't mixed. It's just hatchery quality.

Ahhh. Thanks. I completely forgot about that being possible. Combs can be different in hatchery quality birds.

What cuties! First one is definitely a white d'uccle pullet. The second bird I think is also a pullet, and it isn't mixed. It's a normal sultan, not high quality though. I got a sultan cockerel from Ideal Poultry, and he's decent quality but has the same comb as yours.

I had never even heard of a Sultan until I got this one lol. They were just in the bantams bin at Tractor Supply. I figured both were pullets but it's SO hard to tell lol. They are both so sweet, too. We named the d'uccle Polly and the Sultan is Zazu.

Very cute names. I actually got three chicks from the bantam bin at Tractor Supply last night, I grabbed what looks to be a porcelain d'uccle and a lavender d'uccle, and a mystery chick with a caramel body and cream head. I'll take some pictures.

Aww really? That's a bummer. Mine still sells chicks, but mostly meat birds. I also bought what looks to be a pekin duckling for a dollar because my Tractor Supply really wants their ducks gone right now.

Yeah, I hate it. There's no place around here with chicks except some breeders.
