Depending on whether or not I can get the sultans, I was thinking of starting a project.
I want to breed a sultan roo over a NN hen to try for crested/bearded/muff/feather feet/naked neck birds
Similar to the silkie/nn cross for the showgirl except I want a larger more productive breed that is as ornamental as it is productive
I was thinking it will take a few generations to get the looks I want(large fowl with crest, beard, muff, feathered feet, naked neck) and a lot more to breed for better egg production. But I was wondering if anyone has done this before? How many generations did it take for the crest/beard to be nice sized like the parent stocks?
Also how well does the beard show up with the naked neck? I was wondering if the naked neck will remove the beard
