WOW....such nice birds...hard to tell them apart but I will try ok...in the second pic you have the boy standing up, all the rest of the sultans are girls...seems like all the polish are boys...

Wow, really hard to tell. I have no idea on the sultans but I too think both the Polish are roos. Still, I am only really sure on one of them.

Okay, I'll try my luck on the Sultans. Starting from the first picture, left to right:

Pic 1-Both pullets.

Pic 2-Can't tell on that one not facing the camara, 100% male in the background, pullet last.

Pic 3-I'm guessing they are the same birds at #2 so same.

Pic 4-Pullet.

Pic 5-Can't tell on that one not facing the camara, the other is a pullet.

Pic 6-100% cockerel.

Pic 7-All look like pullets from this veiw.

Pic 8-ard to tell, but only the one in the front looks like a male.

Pic 9-I can only tell you that the one that's face can be seen is a pullet.

Pic 10-Too hard to tell.

Pic 11-Also too hard to tell.

Pic 12-Skipping, I'm not very good with SLP.

Pic 13-The one facing the camara LOOKS like a female but red around the face says probably a male.

Pic 14-Same as #13.

Looks like you have a good ratio going there. Sultan females are supposed to have little, though the standard says no, wattles. t's not very hard to tell genders with them. Males will have spikey crests. Females will have poofs. It generally stays the same with all Sultans.

Polish princess are you saying the females will have more of a round head of feathers then the males? Are the males better able to see, because of less over hang of feathers? Here are my 3 sultans. The one on the right has better vision due to less feathers on top. They are 14weeks old.

From the pics, it looks like you have all girls.

I think you'd be well aware if you had males by now. There really wouldn't be a doubt in your mind.

Males will sometimes have crest feathering that will block vision. It depends on their genes. Crested birds that are bred by breeders should have large crests, while hatchery birds are bred in mass, regardless of genes, and will have smaller crests. But younger males will grow more feathers when they grow older. Feathersite can show the difference.

As they have got older I can tell I have 2 males and the rest females in the Sultans. In the Polish I have a male and female now. My daughters accidently broke the leg on one of my poish birds. So that left me with 2. Thankfully a hen and rooster.

Thanks, Polish Princess.
Nice website, best pics I've seen yet of these sulties. I'm a rookie with birds, I bought these gals from McMurry Hatchery. Along with 24 others. The specials all come unsexed. It looks like out of the 6 specials I got 5 gals and the Dominique is a Roo. Out of 20 purchased pullets only one was a male(Lenny). Mc Murray did a pretty good job sexing I'd say.

Well Thanks again

The year before last, they sexed large fowl Sultans. Now you don't know what you're going to get and they cost a fortune! Our first year ordering, we ordered a straight run banty Sultan who turned out to be a rooster. His crest didn't totally feather out until he was a year and a half. I think the breed is slow to mature. I wish I had more, though.

Good luck with them! I wasn't crazy about McMurray's service but after 2 and a half years, we've only lost 2 of our origional flock. They're very hardy birds.

2 roosters sounds good. You'll be very happy with them.
