It's a hot humid summer in our country and on order to make it cooler and nicer for my hens, I'm making yummy ice blocks, full of yummy surprises like fruits and vegetables. It's one of their fav treats, it's entertaining, keeps them busy while cooling their body temperature, and providing them with healthy nutrition.
Take a quart freezer bag or a Galon ziploc bag if you have more than 5 hens, add lots of veggies and fruits cuts to bits, add lots of water, zip & freeze.
The next day, during the hot hours, take it out of the freezing bag, put it on a plastic tray and serve it to your flock. They'll have a real party and they'll love you even more!
