Good morning, we are new members here and have recently purchsed some property in the Summit Valley (Hesperia, Near SIlverwood Lake) we are thinking about converting an existing shed into a coop. New to chickens and excited to start raising a flock.

Thanks for the replies. Summit Valley is in the high dessert of California near Silverwood Lake. Looking for exotic egg layers that will do well out here.

Welcome from Colorado! You can find all the breeds for the best egg producers here in the 'breeds' section. For me, the leghorn is the best. But I love my Rhode Island, Barred Rock, Wyandotte, Welsummer, and several more babies yet to be identified
