Has anyone had any experience with using Sump Oil for treating mites on the chickens legs. My neighbour has insisted I take a bucket of Sump Oil to try on the chickens legs, so after about a month I decided to take it but haven't put it on their legs yet as I was thinking of just chucking it out, sounds like a pretty extreme idea. It's Sump Oil for a car I think, it has the same consistency as syrup so would coat well and I reckon it's poisonous enough to kill any mites in a 10 mile radius of each But will it burn their skin or hurt them in any way.
    Any Advice Is Accepted.

Likely your neighbor means used oil, drained during an oil change. Old timers used to use it. It's pretty effect but fairly nasty. Yes, it smothers anything on the legs.

Ahaha yeah it looks pretty heavy. But is it still safe to use.
