I currently have 3 chooks 2 nearly 1 year old and the other about half a year old. 1 of my 1 year old is Sunday roast (dad named her) her nick name is Sunday but she has been acting strange I have checked for bugs she doesn’t have any but she hasn’t been laying eggs like she used to and when she does she doesn’t go to her normal laying place she normally goes on the top shelf but now she is only laying on the bottom as well as sleeping there she has been holding her tail feathers very low when she always holds it high her eating and drinking is what seems normal she is just as friendly to her sister and even more close to the youngest one since the second chooks death. She is also friendly with me but not so much with my family she is also protective of the youngest chook from her sister (Tricky likes to attempt to kill the baby by often biting and running at her I know that this is her trying to tell the baby that she is the boss not her) I’m starting to worry about her.

She is normally laying 1 to 2 eggs a day but now it can be less then 1 a week. Yes i can clarify she isn’t rooting before she wasn’t she did have trouble getting up there but that only came 2 months after I got her she is coming out of her cage but not going far away from it she often calls to her sister if she goes around near the boat now too.

She normally laid up to 2 eggs a day? Were both normal eggs or was one soft shelled? Hens don't usually lay 2 eggs a day, it takes about 26 hours for an egg to be completed for laying.

I would check her for lice/mites, feel her abdomen for bloat or fullness like fluid, check to make sure her crop is empty in the morning before she eats/drinks, look at her legs/feet (bottom of feet too) for swelling/scabs or injury.

The eggs seem normal she doesn’t have any lice that I can see She doesn’t seem to have any bloat or fullness her crop seem to frequently be empty

Today Sundays egg has got a lot of bumps and scratches on it that look and feel like they happened ether when it came out or right after
