SunFlock- A chicken RP *OPEN*

As she watched her, the dusty hen silently dared the black hen to continue into RavenFlock territory. When she did, the corners of her beak pulled up into a crooked little smirk. The black hen's plumage hid her well against the shadows, and despite the dusty hen's sharp eyesight, it was tough to keep her in view for long. So instead, she took a different route, and glided to a spruce very close to the one she was roosting in. The eerie flicker of light from something on the hen's claws gleamed again. She narrowed her yellow eyes to slits; if she could get just close enough... She knew that the hen must be catching on to something, and she needed to take the opportunity with the element of surprise while she still had it. She flew down to the black hen with outstretched claws, but wasn't even caring if she hit or not. She didn't want to fight unless it was absolutely necessary; her point was to make sure that this intruder knew that she wasn't invited.

(( If anyone wants to make the deputy of Fireflock, by all means do. I have a little subplot, and there needs to be a deputy. ))

(No worries, I like longer posts :) )

After the first hint that she wasn't alone, the black hen knew that someone was out there watching her. This deep into enemy territory though, she wasn't surprised. Of course they knew she was there. Again, out of the corner of her eye she caught a faint flash of dim light. At the same time, a rustle of wind accompanied the dusty hen's rapid descent towards her. Knowing that she wouldn't be able to move quick enough horizontally, she dropped to the ground and ducked. Being rather tall and thin, she managed to avoid the dusty hen's claws, although they brushed lightly across the top of her back. She hissed darkly as the other hen landed, a combination of nervousness and self-defence. She didn't want to appear weak or frightened.

There was an unnatural *clink* of metal as the dusty hen landed on the forest floor, which was littered with pine needles. Upon closer inspection, it was clear that she had reinforced metal claws slipped over her feet. They were awkward to carry around, given that they were so heavy, but she could easily slip them back off after a battle or a patrol. She turned to face the black hen, her gaze eerily calm and cool. "State your name and purpose." The brown hen knew better than to assume that she'd just give it to her, so she added, "You don't have to worry. I'm not going to claw your face off- that is, unless you try to claw mine." There was an amused glint in her yellow eyes, but it disappeared in half of a second.

Gold-Feathers tussled with a worm. The worm snapped, one half sliding under ground, the other slid down her throat. She silently cursed herself for letting the other half of worm get away.
