I know that the new babies arent supposed to have sawdust cause they will eat it, but what about hulls? DH can get hulls for free from work since he is at a sunflower processing plant, but I dont know if thats safe for the babies? Should I lay down paper towels for the first few days (ugh that'll be ROLLS of towels for 100 chicks in a 5 ft diameter water tank brooder!) or ?

OK I know that "bumping" irritates certain ppl on the boards, so I wont do it again after this, but really doesnt anyone know about using hulls for bedding???/

im so sorry no one has answered you.. i have no idea i would think they would eat them tho i use pine bedding with mine
