Hey everyone!

I just found in my cupboard an unopened bag of sunflower seeds, my husband won't eat them because they have the shells on and I'm not much of a fan myself. Can I feed these to our chicks if I crush them up? We don't have our chicks yet, but I don't want to toss these out into the compost if I can use them in the next few months. Could I give sunflower seeds whole in the shell to adult chickens? Just want to keep my eyes open for good treats, we want friendly chickens!

I'll check, if they are is that a no-go? I don't want to give them anything that would not be good for them.

if they are salted you can use them as treats and not give them allot at once kind of like candy.

if they are unsalted feed as will.

My adult chickens go absolutely nuts when they see sunflower seeds..
