sunflower seeds ok?

I have a bunch of oiled sunflower seed.......is it ok for chickens?

YES!!! They love them and they are very good for them, in fact some people recommend you mix them in their daily food.

And, they love them sprouted. We have been tossing them in their run (which is made of sand) and those that got buried sprouted with some recent rain and warm weather. They have been having a great time this week digging out those sprouts.

thanks for all the good info....esp loved the list. Looking at the pictures of the two red chickens, decided that I'd like living there if I were a chicken. I thought I pampered my bunch.....no comparison.

I do feed avacado & they always pick out the meat & leave the pit & skin. I hadn't known there was toxicity.
