Sunflowers

If I were to plant sunflowers, could I feed the plants to the chickens?

Many on here, including me, just cut the heads off and throw it in the run.

i leave a 2-foot section of the stalk attached to the head, then weave (using the term loosely) it through the wire fence, thus suspending it above ground.

I take the seeds off of the heads and mix them in their scratch along with some oats. I used to just give them the heads and they would pick at the heads.
