Chapter 9
Echo got to her feet,slowly,for she was stiff. She groomed herself and went to look for Storm. They had talked long enough! She walked off into the direction she had last seen them. "Storm?" she whined quietly, "Are you there? I need to talk to you." She paused and tapped her tail on the ground. "If I did something wrong please tell me. I probably didn't mean to do it." Echo's voice reverberated off the stones,then were silenced in the trees. "If there's something you don't like about me,I can change,I can!" She searched the forest,and said the unimaginable. "Don't you love me anymore,Storm?"

Storm heard the whines of Echo he trotted toward the sounds. He didn't want to tell her to go.
Echo pricked her ears. She heard a wolf. "Storm?" She ran towards the sound. "Is that you?"

"RAVEN!" Butterscotch yelled. "WHERE ARE YOU?" She followed a trail of pawprints and saw Raven and Drifter. "Raven."
Raven looked over at Butterscotch and greeted,"Hello."
"Raven, I am proud to announce that you are the alpha female of Blizzard Pack. Echo is going back to Hot pack as soon as she has her pups. I am the beta."
This was great! She asked, "What about Storm?"
"He remains the alpha of Blizzard pack."
Storm looked at her. "I am to remain alpha of blizzard pack. I love Echo but it is my duty to my pack and I owe Lunar to stay with my pack." Butterscotch smiled sheepishly at him.
Raven's smile soon disappeared and stammered,"W-what?"
"What do you mean, what? What do you think?" Butter snapped.

Storm and Drifter had gone into conversation.
"I'm Storm, alpha of Blizzard pack." he growled at this new wolf. He raised his tail and shoved his ears forward in a dominence gesture.
Drifter glanced at Raven,then reluctantly lowered his tail and head,telling Storm he had a higher rank. There would be no challenge...for now.

Echo was in the forest. She heard wolves. "Storm! Are you there?" she barked as hard as she could.

"But Drifter and I are..." Raven trailed off.
Drifter kept his tail and head lowered,but bristled. "Don't talk to her that way!" he said when he heard Butterscotch's reply.
"So what? That doesn't mean he can take Storm's place! maybe you shoulda thought about this before you ran off and mated!" was her reply to Raven's protest.
Drifter growled and grew stiff legged again. He didn't like this wolf. "Who says we did? It's not any of your business anyway!"

Storm heard Echo's call and shrank. He didnt want to tell her the news. He looked at Butterscotch for help.
Butterscotch whimpered. She felt like a whole load had been put on her shoulders.
"I'm sorry," he murmured. "I'm just......... scared to tell tell her." He turned towards Echo.
Echo barked harder. "Storm! I'm here! Where are you?"
"Echo," Butterscotch said, walking over to her. "Can I have a talk with you?"
Echo let her breath out. "Whew! Thank Lupus! I thought I'd never find you all!" She licked Storm's ear lovingly,then turned to Butterscotch. "What about?"

Raven said,"No we just became mates. Are you saying Storm and I are now supposed to be mates?"
"No. I'm only saying that Drifter can't be alpha, but packmember."
"But Drifter's my mate!" Raven protested. She was not satisfied with him being pack mate.
"That's too bad," Butterscotch said. "Now you have three choices: be alpha female and let Drifter be packmember, let us get rid of Drifter, or get kicked out of Blizzard pack."
Raven sighed,"Fine he can be pack mate. "

That being settled, Butter walked off with Echo.
"Is it about Storm?" Echo said.
"Yes..." she said and cleared her throat. "It is your duty to go back to your pack after you have your pups. Your pack needs you. "
Echo gulped. "Will...will...will Storm come with me?"
"I'm afraid not. He has Blizzard pack to take care of."
Echo's eyes filled with tears. "But...but...he's my mate! I can't leave him!" She dashed over to Storm. "Tell me it isn't true?" She hid her face in his fur.

Chapter 10
Storm gazed at Echo. He wanted to run, to say she could stay forever, that he loved her more than anything else but he knew he couldn't. Tears filled his eyes as he gazed at the white she-wolf.
Butterscotch felt like screaming, It is true! It is true, you... But she calmed herself. "It is true."
Echo started to whine,as if her heart had been hit with a fire stick. "I won't leave! I can't! I've probably been replaced by now!"

"We need your help, Raven," Butterscotch said, going back to her. "She needs to be convinced she can't stay."
Drifter looked up with unreadable eyes. "Why do we have to help you do that? Can't you turn a poor she wolf out into the cold on your own?" his tone cut like ice.
"Shut up! This is an A-B conversation, so C your way out of it!" Butterscotch retorted.
"Shut up, Drifter." Storm said.
Drifter restrained his self. He didn't reply. He just glared.

Storm buried his muzzle in Echo's fur. "I love you Echo. I wish I didn't have to leave. Please understand. Please. My pack must come first. I was given alpha by my father and he intrusted me to protect it then pass it down to my son. I have to live up to that Echo."
Echo swallowed. Tears appeared on Storm's pelt where she was silenlty crying. "Why must I go? Can't I be pack mate?"
Butterscotch answered her question. "No. You have a pack that could come rushing in on this pack at any moment, wanting you back. They would be extremely mad and might be the fall of Blizzard."
Raven walked up to Echo. She said in a calm soothing voice,"I know this is very hard for you, but you must leave. Maybe you two can visit every few moons."
Echo opened her now firey eyes. "They'll be to young to move! besides,Sto-" she broke off. She couldn't say his name."My mate said his son would succeed him."
"That'll be Raven's son." Butterscotch said.
Drifter lifted his head. "I would be the father...is that correct?"
Storm turned. "No pup of yours will EVER lead my pack!"
Drifter got to his feet. "Raven is MY mate! Not yours! I thought you liked that white she-wolf!" Drifter still didn't understand.
"No loner's pup will rule my pack. Get this through that thick skull of yours." Storm growled.
"Raven's pups will not be lead because you are a lowly omega! Alphas mate with alphas, and their pups become alphas, don't you get it?" Butterscotch yelled.
Drifter lay down. "I just wanted to be clear. Raven is MINE."
"For a couple months she will be. Then she will be Storm's, or whoever is the alpha male then."
Raven looked on. Her head was spinning with confusion.
"Well I need an heir and his mother is going to be an alpha and there only seems to be one alpha female here." Storm said smartly.
Butterscotch smiled triumphantly at Storm. He may need some help when it comes to choosing mates, she thought, but he has a good head on his shoulders.
Drifter quivered. He wanted nothing better than to put that wolf in her place,but he knew to restrain. He just shot back that agrivating word,the one that get's your head chopped of in the times of kings. "No."
"Yes."
Drifter silenced. Even if he had to sneak around with Raven,she would bear HIS pups,not this...Storm's.

Storm nuzzled Echo. "I love you too but we can't. Bring the pups every moon. I'm only doing this for the pack Echo, not myself. If it were for myself I would stay with you forever."
Echo looked up with tear stained eyes. "Once a moon is not enough. I need you,Storm. How am I going to explain the pups to my pack? The alpha will know they are not his."
"Then 5 times a moon. I dont care. See me when ever you want it's just this isn't your pack and you belong in hot pack."
Echo started to quake. This was too much. "How long can I stay?"

Whatever Drifter was back there mumbling about, Storm didn't like it. "Say one more word wolf and I'll tear you apart!" he hissed. " I've lost my temper with you and your comments."
"So have I! I'll tear you to shreds and our pack'll have you for lunch!" Butterscotch barked.

So sorry to intrude but I am trying to fi the person who posted a picture of blue eggs marked Wolf-Lake. The search I did lead me here. I think she/he sells eggs on auctions. Can any of you tell me how to contact her/him ?

I found a person selling blue hatching eggs with the picture labeled Wolff-Lark. Their username on here is Lark Rise. I know you said Wolf-Lake, but maybe you missed read? I hope this helps you :)
