Sunshine....(chicks name) help with light?

Sunshine is acting weird.....I have the light off during the day, but when the sun goes down and I cover the cage she/.he acts like it wants the light on. I turn it on then its quite. Its not a red light just a light on a lamp.

Oh, how can I explain it, its one of those tall lights that are on a pole that you can adjust up and down. (old one)
So is this normal?
I still haven't found any "friends" for Sunshine.

Yes it's pretty normal. First night in the coop mine really raised a fuss when the light went out. I put a small night light in the coop and they quieted down. I think it helped to get them to go in the coop at night at first also.Left it in for a few months now they go in at dark and don't complain. They will adjust in a couple of days without it though..

You could try giving her a small stuffed animal and maybe a night light. She probably feels vulnerable when it's dark since she is alone.

Thanks, I'll try the night light tonite. She has a feather duster in there with her. (read that somewhere on here). she likes to hide behind it! So cute~
