With all your childeren I figured that they all would want the first two eggs. Cool then, everybody can share them. Its great getting them first eggs. I still thank each one of my girls when I collect eggs from my different coops.

probably a yellow cake with chocolate frosting!

i love baking cakes and this is one of the main reasons i wanted chickens because i use eggs like crazy..it takes almost a dozen eggs if everyone in the family wants them for breakfast!

It would seem to me that laying that close together might mean a medical problem. If you think about what the egg has to go through to get to that point, that would almost seem that she is backing up or something is not flowing correctly. Could she be on the verge of being impacted or getting an egg stuck? I have no knowledge of this, it is just a question from the more learned chicken people.

i wondered that myself, but my husband said that his moms chickens would do the same thing..and she seems ok so hopefully its no big deal!

Maybe the egg was there the day before and you just didn't notice it. It could happen. A doz eggs hugh, mayby you should get you a few more hens. lol
