A backwoods coop in NH
Our eggs were due on Monday and my mother just opened up the incubator to put them in lockdown and we have one externally pipped already. Our incubator isn’t the greatest quality so the temp may be a bit high, hence the early hatch...did opening the incubator for that short amount of time screw him up at all??our hatch is staggered so if he’s two days ahead it’s pretty safe to assume the rest are. We have three sets of two eggs each 1-2 days apart. Apologies if this doesn’t make much sense we are a little shell shocked..we weren’t expecting to see a hole in one of those eggies already!!!

So 3 days before due date one is pipping, if I am understanding correctly? That sounds pretty normal to me. As long as your humidity and temps are ok and you’re not opening the incubator anymore, then they should be as good as they can be.
