Super fragile eggs

Could somebody tell me what I can do? My girls lay just fine but there eggs are extremely fragile. I have lost two recently from just them setting on them. And several others from gentle handling. They have access to free choice oyster shell and I also mix it with there scratch in the run. What else can I do and how long before some results?

Mix it with their scratch? Maybe that is the problem. Scratch is a treat. The hens should get a layer ration.

I have a hen that lays shell-less eggs if she gets too many treats. Another one lays fragile eggs.

When it gets to be a problem for me, I feed them high-calcium treats.

Crush up some boiled eggs & feed it to them.

sounds like a calcium deficiency to me

their primary food source should be layer feed....I agree, if you give them too many treats that don't eat enough of what's "required"...

No no no you guys they are on Layer pellets I was just saying that when I do give them scratch that I throw a little oyster shell out with it and they love it.
