I got eggs from the farmers market a few weeks ago. I got them out of a cooler so they were cold and I dont know how old .they were. I set them 26 days ago. Of the six I set only 2 were fertile, I threw the rest out around day 12. One hatched right on day 21. on day 23 I candled the last egg and it was still alive, moving around in there! So today is day 26 and the last egg has pipped. That is kinda crazy right? Anyone ever hatch an egg that late? I am wondering if maybe it is not a chicken egg but a duck egg. It looks the same as the other egg that hatched, it was a tiny bit bigger but it did not have that waxy coating that I usually associate with duck eggs. Anyways, I really hope if hatches cause that poor lone chick looks so sad in the brooder all by herself.
