I mentioned in another post that I just added 8 brown coturnix (6 hens) to the flock. Well, between 6 pm Wed. and 10 last night those six little birds have laid 10 eggs. I'm pretty impressed. I'm sure I don't have any special quail or anything lol, but that seems like a lot of eggs. I'm used to chickens though where production is a little slower. Should I expect to keep getting these types of numbers?

Haha - I've not had quiet that many at a time. But my 6 ladies every now and again lay 7 in a day - it happens about 1 time every could of weeks!

Actually Expect A Serious Drop Or Shut Down In The Very Near Future As You Just Changed Everything They Have Known... They Will Likely Go On Strike. The 1+ Eggs Per Hen You Got Are A Sign Of Stressed Out Birds In Most Cases. Dont Worry... Get Them Set And Then Change Nothing More And They Will Start Up Soon And Average Is About 1 Egg A Day During Season Per Coturnix Hen... It Can Vary A BIt From Bird To Bird Depending On Overall Care And Age Etc...

Yea, it has slowed down a bit but I haven't seen any picket lines yet lol. I'm still getting about 5 eggs a day from those 6 hens. When I start getting more again I will know that my A&M's are laying.
