Yes, light in color and not as thick and rich. They aren't free range because I spend so much time on my garden and they are garden assassins.Do you mean light in color? Do your hens have go outside? Do your hens get any grass or other greens? Free range hens get much darker yellow yolks than birds that are contained.
Oh....no free ranging I see now.Yes, light in color and not as thick and rich. They aren't free range because I spend so much time on my garden and they are garden assassins. We do give them grass clippings once a week when we mow. Does that count?
Be careful with the grass clippings... Please make sure you're offering them grit.Yes, light in color and not as thick and rich. They aren't free range because I spend so much time on my garden and they are garden assassins. We do give them grass clippings once a week when we mow. Does that count?
Interesting! What's the logic behind that? Not eating enough pellets?I'd stop feeding them kitchen scraps.
Really?? That's interesting! I thought scraps were fine, especially because we eat no processed foods so it is fruits and veggies. Is it because they aren't eating enough pellets with filling up on the craps?Kitchen scraps are fine as a treat every now and again, but they should be limited. Corn and greens will help with a darker yolk color!![]()
