Super poop

WARNING! Chicken poop is really high in nitrogen, so keep it away from your tomatoes!!!!!!! You will get these beautiful tomato trees but with nary a tomato on them. Not one. Sure, the trees are ten feet tall and have bark, but the point is sort of to grow tomatoes, not trees.

Just so you know

I always wondered if you used 21-0-0, in the spring; would they grow huge, then water out the fertilizer.... then would they make tomatoes?

We used chicken poo on our gardens last year and our stuff grew great! We had HUGE tomatoes on our plants, but we ended up losing them all to blight.

Ths year we are using a mix of chicken poo and goat poo. Stuff is growing great already!!!

I wanna see pics, lol!!!

JetBlack - I'll let you know how it goes. One plant has tomatoes growing already but the others are just putting out their first flowers ( a ton of them). We'll see!

Amen. I wasn't paying attention last spring and was in a little bit of a rush to get the garden in. Didn't notice that the poo that the kids spread was on a *little* thick as I tilled it and ended up planting brussel sprouts in that section. 5 ft high, 4 inch thick (I measured) main stalks, loads of sprouts, none of them getting much bigger than size of a good pea.

Let's say I'm using the compost a little more sparingly this year.
