This guy was rescued a few months ago. He showed up at a warehouse and stayed around for two weeks before a few stray dogs got a hold of him and someone brought him to me to fix. He is all patched up, healthy, and healed now and is in need of a wonderful home. He was defiantly someones beloved pet at one time and we sadly were unable to locate the owners. He is very sweet. Doesn't mind being held, loves to be pet behind the ears, comes running when he sees me heading for the treat bin.
I don't have any appropriate set up to keep him, nor ever owned chickens before so he needs to find a proper loving home.

He's a gorgeous boy, where in California are you located? I am in Amador county, about an hour from Sacramento and depending on the location I am willing to make a drive. Thank you!

I'm located in Los Angeles. I am willing to drive a good distance as well.
He really deserves a wonderful life =)

Just as another adorable fact about him, he free roams my yard during the day and sleeps inside at night. He will peck at the sliding glass back door at 7:30 to be let in. Walks straight inside, right to his dog crate and lays down to go to sleep ^_^

I'd be willing to make the bulk of the drive, if not all of it. I just want him to have a great home

My daughter is begging me to write you about (and I quote) 'the most perfect chicken in the universe'. We live in Redlands, right off the 10 freeway, and have an acre of land and a bunch of chickens... and perhaps most importantly, a backyard with a sliding glass door. So, if he's available, she promises he can sleep in her room in a cat crate, and that she'll clean her room so he'll be happy. Please let me know :) I can pick him up tomorrow.

i hope she gets him! he sounds like the kind of chicken more willing to be a pet.. not live stock. but sounds like a good home! Hope she hasn't begged too much! XD

No, she's 14, so the begging was sincere and mature. She's helping me build another coop for our Russian Orloffs tomorrow, as we're getting another hen and a rooster so we can help preserve the breed. All our chickens are very loved; we hug and scritch and give them treats and toys. Some of them sit on our laps and watch TV. So we would be happy to have such a fine house-rooster! And if he crows in the morning to wake her up, it'll be a bonus ;)
