I am not sure what your goal is?? offering a free choice balanced layer feed is usually sufficient for a laying flock. what kind of fowl are you feeding? what are your goals with the flock?Right now I am feeding oyster shells as a free choice supplement I am curious to what other things I can free choice supplement them?

I know there are lots of folks more knowledgeable than I am, hopefully someone will pop in and give you better answers
Thanks for the herb list I've been wanting to plant some stuff for them now I have some ideasDo you mean like treats or just giving them extra stuff to graze? Mine have a free rage area so they have access to a lot of wild growing goodies but when I've had to leave them locked up for periods of time I will rake up leaves or the grass after it's been mowed and give them piles to rummage through, they LOVE it.
I have had and plan to replant my chicken garden, lol. It's herbs that are beneficial to the chickens and you can grow them just outside of their run where they can pick at bits that come through without them killing the plants by over grazing or digging them up. A lot of those herbs also deter pests so it's win win!

Mine get their Flock Raiser, separate oyster shell, grit in winter (when there's snow), and some scratch as a treat. Some kitchen stuff, and free range on mixed tree border, pasture, and mixed plantings. A fair amount of variety, of course more when there,s no snow or frozen ground.
Fresh good quality feed (by mill date) is the most important thing! Nothing else is a good substitute, or will make up for issues there.
