I have a bantam EE who is sitting on 6 eggs. Their hatch date is Friday. She is obviously small being a bantam, and the eggs are from full sized birds (ayam cemani/cochin). Will I need to put a heat lamp in the brooder being that she's so small? If I only get a few hatching I'm sure she'll be fine, but she's been a great mama and all 6 are looking good. I can't imagine her little body keeping all 6 warm. I'm in north GA and it's still in the 60's at night. Thanks in advance!

Do all 6 eggs fit comfortably under her? If so, the babies should all fit under her. At least for the first 2 weeks. After that they'll be old enough to stay warm using their own body heat and whatever warmth is generated huddling with mama and siblings.
She pancakes over them very well, I didn't think about that! obviously they won't be much bigger than the eggs themselves lol. Thanks!
