I recently inherited 10 Muscovy Ducklings when their Mom was killed the night before they hatched. I brought in all the eggs and surrounded them with table and clamp lights. It was all I had. Then, after a doctor appointment, I returned with a heat lamp and set that up. I actually had 11 eggs but only 10 hatched. The 11th, after being candled, was not viable. I was amazed at how cleanly they hatched without an incubator. Anyway, they are now one month old and I have them on chicken starter/grower feed and give them peas which they love. They also like spinach and have lots of grass now. What else can I give them to raise them to be healthy and strong Muscovy ducks?

Hello, since I don't see a post from you on the duck forum I will answer your questions here.
First, congrats on your hatch, muscovies can be hard to hatch without mom (in an incubator) from what I have read. It probably didn't hurt that they were so close to hatching when you found them. :)
Second, spinach leeches calcium from the ducks, so it probably isn't good to continue feeding them spinach. Peas are great though. I feed my ducks a flock feed because I also have chickens so it prevents any confusion over who gets what feed. Purina and Nutrena both have flock feeds that are great for ducks with added niacin that they need.
If you continue on chicken feed, you will want to add niacin to their diet as ducks need more than chickens. You can add niacin via b3 supplements or by adding brewers or nutrional yeast to their feed.
On the duck forum here at byc (linked above) there is a sticky thread with loads of info about raising ducks. Muscovies are pretty much as easy to raise as any other duck.
Here is a link to the treats and supplements (which is also found within the duck sticky thread)

muscovys are easy to hatch and easy to raise.
you don't have to do much for them. they enjoy eating insects and especially mosquito larvae.
If you can let them free range, they will get all the nutrients they need. then just some supplemental feed will do.
they do not need the medicated chick feed.
they will fly. the like sitting on high places like the ridge of the house roof or on top of your car. or on any car of anybody visiting you..
they taste delicious.
