Thanks for the info and the congrats!Ducks get niacin in the wild from mainly meat sources. Worms, tadpoles, minnows, etc.
Muscovy are a very hardy breed. And not prone to some of the health issues you see from the breeds that we humans propagated to get certain traits we wanted.
And congratulations for hatching out the eggs! What an accomplishment.![]()
They are considered nuisance but I think there is still a law against killing them intentionally. I have had to keep them "under the radar" where I live. Most of my neighbors do not like them and would not be happy if they knew I had them. Luckily, I have a six foot high privacy fence in my backyard and my nextdoor neighbor (closest to their pen) is fond of my Mom so I don't think he would be a problem if he heard them peeping. I think he likes them too. Thanks, Miss Lydia.Awesome you were able to save the Muscovy's ducklings they are adorable. Please keep them safe in your yard or property I understand they are considered nuisance there in Florida and can be killed with out provocation. So sad Muscovy's are such awesome ducks. Love mine.
