Help, is there anyone from the Bay Area that has resources for supplies.

I purchased chicken scratch from the Alamo feed store and it was laden with bugs. The Livermore store is..... limited, and I'm really looking for food grade DH as well.

Also, I need a great way to get rid of flies. Since I brought my chickens home I have flies EVERYWHERE and it's making me so sick. We used to eat outside every night and now we can't. Help!

Do they have the DH there? Any chance they have organic feed? Is this overkill to use organic feed?

I love half moon bay esp the coastal access from the Ritz! My dog loves that beach. I just wish I could take my chickens to the beach too.

They have organic feed over there too. Probably have DH too but I suggest you call.
Mike's feed store in San Leandro has organic food too.

I don't live in the Bay Area, but about 100 miles from there. However, this could help you in the DE department. I had a hard time finding Diatomaceous earth that didn't cost an arm and a leg and only came in small bags from selected nurseries. Here is where I buy mine now, and even with shipping, is only $1 lb which is way cheaper than I have found anywhere else. They have a super catalogue and is a fun place to shop.

My parents found the food grade DE up in Valley Springs. I tried to order it from the Alamo feed store but they were kind of sketchy about what it would cost when it arrived. It was a HUGE bag. I can spare a bit if you want some.

For flies, in addition to the DE, I bought a fly trap from Orchard that you hang in a tree and add water to. It smells like death but works real good.
