It's fine. Someone made a similar comment on my article too. It's just not feasible here to assume we can get them a plethora of high-E foods, plants, weeds, spices, herbs, etc., prepare them, then divide them up for seven pens. And then do this every day on top of it. This was all geared more for the breeder. If they were just my backyard flock I was raising for pets and eggs, that'd be different.I want to mention that checking mill dates on each bag of feed is very important! Feeding within two months of the mill date gives the best, freshest vitamin %, as it will decrease over time.
And I lost you all as far as your supplement and food additions were concerned, seems to me that a good balanced fresh diet would be best. If some of these birds are outliers, in that they have exceptionally increased needs for some nutrients, that's not a good thing to breed on.
Sorry to butt in here, but I did anyway...

The point was to improve the breeders as they aren't getting enough E in the Flock Maker, and this was the easiest way to do it. As it is, it's still not what is recommended, so we can still add in some of the high E items and not worry about overdosing them on E. But this way their base level of it it is higher, from 30 iu to 40 iu.
