Supportive, Protective or Demanding Rooster?

My non dominate Roo stands with my hens when they lay. If they're in a nesting box in the coop he hangs out in the doorway. My one hen occasionally likes to lay her egg in the dust bath bin and he will stand right next to her while she lays. Is this normal Roo behavior

My younger roosters do the same thing. I sometimes find one sitting in the nestboxes.

Ditto, saw my young cockerel do this.....was charming.......but as an adult he doesn't do it any more.
