Bought this chick with a few Speckled Sussex and Buff Brahma's at Tractor Supply last week. He/She's supposed to be a Golden Laced Wyandotte, but doesn't look it to me. Not a bit of black fluff anywhere and her wings are feathering out buff. Any ideas? At the time I bought her/him, they also had RIR, NHR, and Cornish Rocks. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I would love it if it was a Buff Orpington. It's just so strange because all the chicks in the brooder that they claimed were GLW looked exactly like my little guy. I called yesterday to see what other breeds they had, thinking that maybe they had their signs mixed up, but none of look like this as chicks. Maybe they got a breed they weren't expecting? Could that happen?

New Hampshires feather out a bit wild pattern at first. I'd say this is a Buff Orp. I'd fall over laughing if someone at a feed store told me this was a laced anything.
