Supposed to be a Lavender Orpington Pullet ?

That looks like my Larry Bird. I lost him to Marek's disease. Except Larry's legs were darker.
Aww I’m sorry. :( 😭 I lost two Welsummers to Mareks this year as I think you know but then I lost Jack recently too to what I believe was the heat. :( He survived the bout of Mareks only to succumb to the heat 😭 I just lost him the other day. Thankfully I have some of his chicks on the ground now.

Mine had slate blue legs too but these almost look black??? And the comb looks dark too.

This was mine around the same age and as an adult. His legs didn’t really darken until he was older.

There is no way that the 6th and 7th picture are the same roo! I'm just kidding. Puberty was nice to your roo!

I'm so sorry, Kelsey. We say that having Marek's in your flock means every bird that dies....is probably from MD.
Thank you! And yeah, I’m not sure because he didn’t show any symptoms like the other two did and was fine the day before then just dropped dead overnight.

It was excessively hot for two days in a row (like 95-97 with 105 heat index/feels like temps and especially humid the second day) and was panting a lot the day he died so I think he just couldn’t cope? Especially being so big and fluffy etc.

But I suppose it’s possible he had Mareks and it weakened his system? But the other two I put down rather than them dying on their own. But I guess I will never know because we buried him. Couldn’t bear to cut him open or send him in. Loved him too much.

LOL yes! He didn’t really have an awkward stage like his “brothers” did! He was gorgeous since day one 😂🤣🥰

His brothers especially the EE were so awkward looking for so long 😂🤣

ETA: And thank you!

I can confirm that they're Lavender Orpingtons. I have seen pictures of many with dark legs. Their color is definitely lavender and there are only a handful of breeds (if that) that hatcheries carry in lavender. The only other one that comes to mind would potentially be Ameraucanas, but they're obviously not them. How many birds are pictured? If all the same, looks like a cockerel

Bought at TSC as Lavender Orpington pullets
8 weeks old

I’m not even sure it’s a L.O, let alone a pullet :/View attachment 2273773

But the comb is so small, and not red at all. It’s an Orpington so, it will be big male, or female.

I have a lavender Orpington roo with dark legs. As well as two chocolate roos with dark legs. I do also have 4 buff orpington pullets, they are 10 weeks and have no comb to speak of. It’s there, but super duper teeny tiny, and they are like a skin color. When I got my roos at 10 weeks they’re combs and wattles were already red, and much, much larger than where my pullets are. I would say it’s a pullet, but only time will tell.
