In the Brooder
Does anyone know of a vet in the Placerville or Sacramento area that offers suprelorin/deslorein implants?
One of our 2 year old hens, Opal, became egg bound and ended up with egg yolk peritonitis and recovered, but is now having the exact same problems a few weeks later. This is obviously a chronic problem and we’d like to explore the implant route before putting her down unnecessarily.
Opal is currently on antibiotics and NSAID and we’re giving her lots of calcium to hopefully move things along. We did an ultrasound yesterday and we caught her symptoms early so we’re hoping that she can pass this egg instead of resorbing it like before.
Any guidance on an avian vet who offers hormonal implants would be great. We’re hoping for a miracle here.
