if you really love your rooster and want him to have a chance, give up one of your hens. that's what i do with roosters that i like that i don't want going into the stew pot.
most of my roosters get sold to the columbian ladies who make tamales. but the roos i like but just don't have room for, i sell as pairs or trios.
you'll get takers if you sell them as breeding pairs or trios on craigslist. mine always do.
