Friday was day 21, and nothing. Nor anything on Sat. or Sun. Sigh. I told hubby if nothing by Mon. evening, it did not work. This is a homemade bator made from a styrofoam cooler. Some fluctuating temps, but not much. I told the eggs that Mama had left the nest to eat and drink.

So we get home today, and nothing. Went out and fed the chickens, cats, and horses, came back in and pulled the plug on the light. I was considering breaking the eggs to see what had happened, so I did not pitch them. Went into my office to get on the computer.

Suddenly, dear sweet hubby calls frantically from the kitchen....'Come here and look at this!'

So I figure one of the cats was hurt or dragged a mouse into the house.

But nooooooooo. It was a peep! And I had heard it earlier, but it was so noisy that I thought it was a bird outside.

So, one is pipping, and talking to the other eggs.

There is hope yet! (And yes, I turned the light back on and got the temp back up within five minutes or so)

And hubby is excited, which is great.

He is a great mimic, and is in there peeping to them, encouragement, I guess.

Cheri, who is also getting chicks on Friday or Saturday from Welp. I am so hooked, lol.

Yah!

'Uno' is punching out small chunks of shell, not zipping around the shell. LOL hubby has already named him/her.
