So this hen wasn't supposed to have her eggs hatch till tomorrow or the next day, but this was an estimate. So so far we have gotten 6 out of 12 chicks.
But this lovely surprise started as a horrible seen this morning.
I went at about 9 am to let the chickens out in to their yard and saw 2 chicks on the floor that looked dead. First I thought it was our other hen's chicks but then I counted all 4 of hers. This hen was probably the one that attacked them because she doesn't have a problem with adults coming near her chicks but when its other chicks she flips out.
Well these poor things got thrown out of the nest by the Buff Orpington that hatched them!
So I swaped eggs between the Buff Orp and a Rhode Island Red.
The two on the far left were unscathed and huddled together. The two in the middle were damaged, but they are pretty active right now! The blue and white ones are hatched later.

This poor white one was thrown out of the nest when it was still partly in the egg!

The little blue was lucky that I changed eggs from one hen to the other before he hatched!

WILL UPDATE WITH MORE PICTURES IF ANY OF THE OTHER SIX EGGS HATCH!
