I heard a ruckus outside and much to my surprise I see a baby gosling following behind my alpha white african gander (who will adopt/steal any gosling) along with his favorite girl (who has the strongest broody/mothering instincts of all my geese). The baby did not come from them, though. I have two geese on nests but baby did not come from them either. There was a third goose trying to sit in our barn, which has an assortment of eggs all over (I've been neglectful in cleaning them up), but not sure if it is hers. A muscovy could have hatched it. In any event, my white african gander is in love and baby has already linked up to him. It's just bizarre!
