We name ours based on what the turk's behavior or looks suggest, e.g., our big Slate tom, as a poult, would walk right up onto to my open palm, legs between my fingers (while the others hid and peeped in the back of the brooder) looking at me as if to say `take me outside to the grass, human.' So he was christened Fearless Leader. Our Royal hen, as a jennie, would hiss with little provocation thus - Miss Hiss.
I'm sure they'll `tell you' , after you get to know them, what they'd like to go by
