Ember gazed back " What?"

SKye nodded " Fine"

Blizzard lead the way pressing her nose to the earth. Scents filled her nostrils. She looked back at Skye and grinned. "I smell a feast just ahead. A cow." She bounded toward a wooden fence dividing the beloved forest home from the humans farmland. She leaned on the fence and spotted two young calves.

"There." She pointed toward the two sleeping calves with her nose. "That'll be enough meat to fill our stomachs for a little while until we can find other game!" Blizzard said excitedly

"You sure u want to touch the cows. I mean last time we did Griz was almost hit with the fire sticks." Skye wasn't to sure about touching the human pets.

"I know your right its best we don't..." blizzard agreed. "But its worth another try!" Blizzard jumped over the fence. She crept behind the sleeping cows and slipped under the gate the calves were held behind. The calves slept soundly.

Sky shook her head. Sometimes the alpha was reckless but then again so was she. She followed the alpha. "why not take the cow instead of the calves."

"We take the calves because they sleep so deeply you can kill them without a sound. Also they cause less damage. A cow can kill a wolf a nd it takes nearly a whole pack to take one down. Plus cows work in herds ganging up on the enemy." Blizzard reasoned as she reached down to slice the calves throats.

"All right" Skye said.

Blizzard had sliced the throats of both calves without a peep. She began pulling the calves out from their pens and dragged them toward camp. She dropped one of the calves and and collapsed with exhaustion.
