Daisy boldly herded her grandmother along, yipping and nipping at Layla's heels; her Malinois genes were showing through quite well, now, in her behavior.

"I just ran out in blind anger and fear; fear for our pups and for my lovely new mate. I ran through the territories, and finally realized that there were no scent marks here; I found many a skeleton of what once were dogs, and they bore the scent of the now extinct Rose Pack." Rex explained.

"They hid themselves in a pack called Willow Pack; We found them, but I have lost them; I wish I killed them, but, as you know, it's impossible to get good help these days." Jargo muttered grumpily.
Layla chuckled, her voice low and happy. "So, you've got a den all set up for me?" She asked. Flag spoke up; "Uh huh! We even made you a bed!" Paisley barked her agreement.

Harli pouted. "I wish I wasn't so dang pregnant." She complained, and plopped down again.

Taj whimpered a bit, backing up quickly, but Faith, tough as she was, stiffened up and stood her ground. "Don't insult us! I spit the name Jargoan!" she barked in reply, her fur bristling. "My name is Faith. This is my friend, Taj. We don't mean any harm," she explained, trying not to appear threatening, though she maintained her defensive stance in case this stranger decided to attack.
Melanie stood by Rex, her teeth bared. They couldn't be to trustful of strangers, now that Jargo and his pack was on the search for them.

Rex circled them, staying on alert. "Why are you here? How do I know you're not a spy?!" he kept his back to his mate and pups, blocking them from sight, though he knew that they had already saw them.

Snowy slunk along, making sure to stay out of her sister's way, for if she got in the way, she would definitely get nipped.

Jargo smiled. "We will have our own pups soon, and then you will be able to fight alongside us. For now, you are doing the job of every Alpha Female: you are going to have pups."

Flag hopped inside the den, and pulled the willow leaves back with his teeth. Layla stepped inside, and gasped in delight. "Oh kids, you did this for me?" She beamed.

Harli looked up at him with her golden eyes, and huffed, and put her head on her paws. "I feel so much like a slug." She grumbled.

Faith watched him as he circled, feeling her muscles tense. She kept her head held high, ignoring that Taj now had his back pressed up against her. "We are of Cerulean pack. You can probably still smell it on us. Taj and I are all that remains--at least that we know of." She paused, her eyes meeting Rex's. "The others are gone. They left or died off, I don't know. All I know is that our numbers became smaller and smaller until it was just Taj and I." She took a deep breath, then took just one step toward Rex. Not a threatening one, not the kind of approach to cause concern. More of the kind of approach that a pleading dog would make. "You have no reason to trust us and I know that. But Taj and I would like the opportunity to join your pack and help you defend this place with everything we've got. All I'm asking for is the chance for us to prove ourselves worthy of calling this place home." She fell silent, standing strong and proud and awaiting Rex's response to her pleas.

Snowy quietly spoke up. "Yup, we sure did." and then flinched as her sister, Daisy, moved towards her. She didn't move fast enough. "Owowowowowowow! Let go!" she howled as Daisy bit her on the tail.

Jargo chuckled. "Well, you'll be much better hen those pups are born."

Flag pounced on Daisy. "Hey! Cut it out!" He squeaked, and tried to make her let go.
Layla chuckled, and sat down, watching her grandpups.

"I just hope they get here soon." Harli murmured, then looked up at him, a serious look in her eyes. "Jargo, do you think I-" She looked down again, as if trying to re-position her words. "I um, will be a good mom?" She asked finally.

"Being the merciful Alpha I am... I will give you one chance to prove yourself. That chance will come in time." Rex said, turning to leave.
