Sonya fell into the den, landing with her chin on the ground. She looked up to see her father, pinned to the floor by his neck with some strange dog standing over him. "Dad!" she gasped, scrambling to her feet.

"Stay back," coughed Swampson. His eyes were filled with deep fear. They had his girl, his baby girl! And he was too weak to do a thing about it!

Diablo grinned, and looked at Sonya. "He's your daddy?" he mock gasped. "Oh, how sad, that the little girl would have to see her father die in the paws of the enem---" Diablo was cut short by Jargo's thunderous snarl. "DIABLO, PUT HIM DOWN!"

Diablo released his victim, and snickered as he slunk past Jargo, out of the den.

Sonya's eyes filled with tears, and as Diablo left, she ran over to her father, crouching by his side.

"I'm okay, Sonya, I'm okay," coughed Swampson, managing to sit up. His fear for his daughter had begun to mix with pure fury. They kidnapped a deaf dog, and she probably didn't even know it was coming! Wretched set of cowards! He managed to puff out his chest again, holding his head up high and glaring at Jargo from where he sat. Sonya sat beside him and hid her face in his shoulder, shaking with sobs.

Diablo stood beside Jargo, and grinned.

Swampson snarled. "Don't ya dare talk to her that way!" he barked, a furious frown on his maw. He knew Sonya would not hear, but he was mad anyway.
